Jesus, at the Centre of it all...

In this world, we will have trouble..but HE has overcome the world....and so we do...

I was just at the cell group Bible study last night, and we were discussed about Spiritual Discipline, what makes authentic Christian. Then we were looking at the passage in Matthew 7 where Jesus talks about entering into Narrow gate.

In the greek word, Narrow gate referring to "a hard or difficult" way. Jesus told us to "Enter by the narrow gate...For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few". He also mentioned that "For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many".

Life with God is never meant to be easy. It's hard work. Sometime, people will look down on you, misunderstood you, abandoned you. Just like what they did to Jesus back in His days. I was reminded once again that in the society where we keep hearing about the goodness and the grace of God so much, we also must remember the cost of following Jesus. It comes with the package. For where there is hardship or suffering, grace abounds. We must not forget that.

While I'm blogging this, there are two American Christian athletes that are currently be the talk of the town right now. They both are great athletes, great personality, love Jesus and not shy to tell the media that. If you follow them, you will know that some people love them, some people hate them. They make sure the world knows it. Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin are those guys who choose to honor Jesus in their sport.

I fully aware that being a devout Christian sportsman is definitely not easy. People will mock you, from coaches to teammate, fans, media, etc. I have personally seen all these from TV. It's just painful to hear those comments. It's like you don't bring God into the picture. We are happy down here without Him. Once you bring God in, you are weirdo. I would call that modern day persecution. That's hardship those 2 guys probably have to fight their way throughout the entire career.

So back to my point, indeed walking with Christ in this world isn't easy. Well, no surprise...Jesus already said so. Enter the narrow gate. So we must persevere on. Never give up, throw that word out of your dictionary. Praise Him when your life is at the top of the mountain as well as at the deepest and the darkest valley. He is still there with you. After all, Jesus is at the centre of it all.

When I went to Israel Houghton concert tonight. I was just so overwhelmed by the Joy of the Lord as we joined in worship with him and his band. Then he sang this simple song. I cried. Out of the sudden, huge comfort from God just swept into my heart....

"I AM at the centre of it all Tee." "Hang in there....don't give up on me"....

What a comfort. That's why I love Jesus. He is awesome.

So let's fight the good fight and finish this race well. Remember, Jesus is at the centre of it all. If you tend to be forgetful (like me =p) then listening this simple song, memorize it, and sing it whenever you need to hear these word again and again and again...

Where does my help come?

This post is just my random thoughts about our Christian duties to help others in need. It came across to me recently, the quote from a very successful Hollywood actor Will Smith saying.

"If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be present during my success."

My first response to this was "very true" But yet as a Christian, we are urged to help others who are in need of help. So I thought to myself, I shouldn't be so harsh on this. I will be merciful as Christ has shown me His mercy first. Then another thought struck me.

As I grew up in my Christian walk, often at time people would come and encourage me during the difficult time in life to look to God. For he is one and only hope. Ultimate helper, redeemer. He alone can help you from this difficulty. Nice word, and those fellas just walk away happy that they had said something meaningful to someone.

I don't mean to blame those well-meaning Christians really. But it got me thinking. "Is this what really Jesus taught us to be as a Christian?"

When we look at the life of Christ we would quickly realized that He came and met the needs of the people. He healed countless of people physically, emotionally & spiritually. Nowhere in the Bible that suggested Jesus ignored the need in front of his eyes and tell people to trust God to help them. He himself be hands and feet of God to help them. Now, that is what I am talking about.

I believe, it is absolutely right to trust God that He would rescued us in time of trouble. But I also recognized that God often move through people. We as the body of Christ are God's instruments of love. He could do all the miraculous stuffs on His own, but He chose us! He chose to move through us! What a privilege! To be Hands and Feet of Jesus.

I urge you bros and sis(s) in this great body of Christ. Never ignore people who needs your help. Of course, say a word of prayer for them is the least you could do, but if you could go extra miles for them...why not? I believe that's what Jesus has done for all of us. He went all the way even to the point of sacrificed His very own life. He has set ultimate example for us to follow. Amazing God.

Christianity is a community of love. If we failed to do just that. We are no longer rightly represent Christ.

I guess this reflection comes at the right time in the month of love. (February) Let's go out there and show some love!!

Dear Almighty God (My letter to God)

Dear Almighty God,

I want to live my life from now on in such a way that would honor You in every aspects of my life. Though there will be some difficulties and adjustments that need to be made along the way, Lord I choose to trust in Your sovereignty.

I know You are good, therefore Your plans are good to me. I will seek to know You and allow the Holy Spirit to shape my character to become more like You.

Teach me to surrender my life to you each day in these areas,

My standard of living. I need not easy or comfortable, but Your grace that strengthen me. For I want to be faithful with all that you have given to me. As I learn to be a good steward of your resources, then shall I be a channel of blessings to others around me.

My dreams and my goals in life. Instead of asking You to let me have it my way, I ask that let You have it Your way in my life! For truly, Your way is better than my own.

My education and career. I need not to prove anything to anyone. I don't need all those additional letters to follow my name. I don't need any title to become someone special. All I need is Your name to go before me, Your favor to open door for me, and all I really want to do is to be pleasing to You. So the path I choose in my education and career are yours Lord.

My family. I thank you for giving each of them to me. I know they are not the best, but through them, I've become who I am today. I know that You were there throughout this process Lord, I'm grateful. So I surrender my family to you. Bless them Lord, and lead them to the path of Your righteousness.

Last but not least, I surrender to You my years on earth, I do not wish for long and eventful life. All I ask is that You use me to be an instrument of love and truth to touch Nations as long as You see fits. And I shall looking forward to that day when I meet you face to face in fullness of Your glory and that You say to me "Well done my beloved child!" And hopefully, I would leave a legacy behind for the generations to come.

Usually Monday morning isn’t my favorite time of the weekespecially when I had such a full-on weekend, it makes me feel like sleeping in;but as the saying goes “the show must go on” so here we go. Let’s get the classgoing.

To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect for thisweek’s lecture. Though it was stated on the weekly schedule that the topic ofthis week would be “Writing, story telling and interview”. I personally love totell story, but at times, my memory seem to fail me whenever I want to recallsome of the good stories which I have heard before. I am also in totalawareness that my discipline of writing is pretty bad. My favorite excuse isthat English isn’t my first language.

Patrick Butler is the name of the speaker this week. It’skind of interesting how he started off our class this morning. It was totallyunexpected. To me, his appearance was like a gentle giant, as he was quitetall, but he had a soft-spoken voice and a radiant smile. It shocked me when hebegan in a rather loud note like clapping of hands and cheering us on with aloud voice like the way a sport coach would cheer his team on.

I think it’s probably one of those God-moments, which in myexperience is very common to us as YWAMers. When we plan to do something, theLord would show up and turn our world upside down in the end.

Next thing I know, we were moving under the guidance of theHoly Spirit, in praying and supporting one another, upholding each other inprayer as well as affirming each other’s calling. I was so eager to hear abouthow to write a good piece of article or how to craft the best creative writing.But Patrick gave us even more than that. It’s the big picture of why we do whatwe do and how important it is to be a Communication warrior for God.

Word has an extraordinary power. It either speaks life ordeath. The great battle we are in today is really about fighting to communicatethe truth in the world that seem to think there is no absolute truth but ratherrelative as individual would define.

What Patrick did to us was simply to affirm us of the vitalrole we play in this warfare, as Christian-truth seeking communicator. What apowerful tool we have in our hands to communicate the truth of God to the worldas in the way he puts it “Pen and sword in our hands”

God has given each one of us a true privilege of the abilityto communicate. I’m personally intended to be a good steward of this privilegeand communicate truthfully for the Kingdom of our Lord.

This quote stucked in my head for the past week. This quote came from none other than the famous Steve Jobs who had just made a headlines worldwide as he stepped down from CEO post at Apple, Inc. He said somewhere and I quote

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." -Steve Jobs

It's somewhat true, if you really carefully look into lives of many that you have met personally, or read about from autobiographies, books, news, etc.. You would come to realized that not a single one of them have the same life. (At the most maybe just similar but to have exactly same kind of life? I really doubt so.)

You see, God has created us each a very unique creation. Even our features, the way we look are all so different. Even the twins that we are saying they are looking the same, but actually no! Go ask those twins, they will tell you right away what are the differences between both of them! It's amazing how God created each and everyone of us so uniquely authentic. That shows how much He cares about us. All the details matter.

Now, let's get back to our dear Steve's quote. What I take away from this statement is that "My life will never be your life" All of us will live a different kind of life all together depends on our decision in life we make. So why even bother about trying to tell others what to do or try to be like someone else?

I think many at times, with our good intention, we tend to force people around us to be something that they real not. With our expectation, we make people to be someone else that they are not meant to be. That is why the saying "people wearing mask" is pretty normal these days. Because of expectation around them, they can't truly be who they really are for so many reasons. They could lose their jobs, lose their love ones, etc...if they don't live up to those expectations. It's kinda sad life isn't it?

For certain, I do believe that there is nothing wrong for one to aspire to be like someone successful, famous. That is a goal or motivation to develop one's character. But what I am really uncomfortable with is that for some people, it goes to the extreme extend of obsession. (Remember how you crazy about some rockstars or Sports personality when you were back in school?) That's unhealthy. That's dangerous.

Another thing that I'm thinking and I would like to share is that, we should not try to put false expectation onto someone's life as well. I know we have good intention most of the time, but perhaps, our action rather cause more problem than it actually help. I'm not a dad just yet, so I may not know how it's like to expect my child to be something great and help him/her to achieve that in a healthy way. But I have read enough and encounter with Godly parents to know that there is a way to aspire your children to be who they meant to be, and achieve great success in life. You see, it isn't about what they can do. it's about what God can do!

It's come down the each life need to walk in Fear of the Lord, I suppose. For in the Fear of the Lord, there's the beginning of Wisdom (Pro.1:8) When we have wisdom, we will know how to live our lives to fulfill our destiny that God our Creator has for us. As a parents, a teacher, a pastor or someone influential in others lives. We ought to help those people to walk in the Fear of the Lord and discover their true identity in Christ. Out of that, their lives will be transformed. All they care will be the matter of the Lord. Wanting to please Him.

Let's allow each other to walk in the Fear of the Lord, discover their own journey with God, and strengthen one another in prayer and encouragement. I think that's what Church or the Body of Christ is all about.

It's all about LOVE.

Remember, you can never live someone else's life. So start living your life with God, right now!

ps. Thanks Steve for that sparks of thought. Pray that God will heal you completely from your illness so that you can return and rock the world with your innovation once again. =)

I have been taking time off from blogging I supposed haha. (Good excuse) but nonetheless, it does not mean I have stop thinking. My brain is still pretty much functioning real well....(perhaps too good sometimes) but yeah...I have been in and out between Singapore and Thailand past few months. It's kinda weird...having to switch between speak English and Thai month to month. Preparing for our up-coming wedding in March. Continue to pray for us. It has not been easy. (well no one promised it will be anyway) but by the strength of His joy and the prayer of the righteous, indeed...it has been real help in times of need for us. So thanks.

Yes, I am very blessed to have a privilege of visiting Israel the Holy land for the 1st time in my life. I always wanted to go there since I have become a Christian. I think it would be really cool to see the places I read about in the Holy book and make it comes alive right in front of you. How cool is that?

A week trip there is definitely worth it. I basically went on a tour, so it was jam packed with a lot of programme. I couldn't even remember where did I visited. But As I reflected on the things I have seen, this is some of my reflection on a few places that the Holy Spirit touched me and I would like to share with you. Here we go.

Caesarea Maritima (Harbour City of King Herod)

As I sat there at the Roman Theatre listening to the story of Peter came to this city as the angel appeared to him and gave him a revelation to go preach the gospel to the gentiles. Then the call from Cornelius came. And here he was, at Caesarea Maritima, He shared the gospel of Jesus to the gentiles. And that sparked a beginning of gospel of Christ into 4 corners of the Earth. Awesome place to begin with.

The Sea of Galilee

This place is certainly amazing place to visit. Here in this sea, Jesus performed countless of miracles namely....walking on the water, the feeding of five thousands, casting out demons into the swines and in this picture, I am sitting at the place believe to be the spot where Jesus had a breakfast with the disciples after his resurrection. Just to sit there try to imagine the conversation Jesus had with Peter. "Pete, do you love me?" "Yes, Lord I love you" and He kept asking the same question for the third time. As Christ restored Peter back into the ministry. I felt so touched by the love and compassion of Christ towards us. Even though we may failed, but His love never failed.

Dead Sea
Ok, I know....this may sound not so spiritual but hey, there is a very important lesson we could learn from the Dead Sea.

This Sea is basically a receiver of blessing and not giving away at all. As this is the lowest place on Earth at 250 meters below Sea level. And because of that, the amount of salt in this Sea is way too much for any living creature to be able to live. That's why it is call "DEAD" sea. So be like the sea of Galilee that receive the blessing and pass it on, and don't be like the Dead sea that keep all the blessing to itself. it will eventually dead.

btw, It is really floating!!! Amazing =p

The wilderness of En Gedi

This place is the place where David fled from King Saul before he became King of Israel. In fact many of the beautiful Psalms he wrote was in the wilderness. Many great people in the Bible also had to go through the "Wilderness Experience" So I thought let's do that. So off the programme, I decided to went off the beaten track and had some Wilderness experience. It is definitely worth it.

It certainly changes the way I understand Psalm 23 when David is talking about green pasture, still water or even this whole shepherd thing. Honestly, when I read this Psalm, somehow I have this imaginary image of New Zealand green pasture with a lot of sheep grazing on it. But seriously, Israel is nowhere near that. It's full of desert!

What's amazing about this desert land is that, there is water running beneath the dry land. So in this Wilderness of En Gedi, you could find many waterfall within all these rocks and cliffs. So it's really like an oasis. And because of that, you would be able to find some green pasture around the area. It really speak of God's provision for us. Even in the season of dryness in the wilderness. He is surely will provide for us all that is needed.

Gethsemane (Church of All Nations)
The garden of Gethsemane, stood today the Church of All Nations where pilgrims all around the world come and witness the struggle of Christ before His time to be taken to the cross. As I sat there in the church meditating on the battle that was going on in that garden. Jesus must be exhausted. Even the bible mentioned that He sweat blood! Nonetheless, (Thank God!) Jesus still submitted to the will of the Father and make His way to the cross in order to saved all mankind from sin. What a love...Thank you Jesus.

The Dome of the Rock. (The Holy of Holies)This is believe the be the place where Abraham sacrificed Isaac on Mt. Moriah. The significant of this place for me is that, it is where Worship started. It is where the word "Worship" was first mentioned in the Bible. (Genesis 22) Subsequently, it became a very spot where King Solomon build the first temple. And later on the temple of King Herod in the time of Jesus. Though today this Holy of Holies spot stood the Dome of the Rock which is a sacred Muslim mosque. It is still very significant to me just to be there sensing the presence of the Almighty God. My prayer is that people here will know the one and only true God. And that they will no longer refused or waiting for the coming Messiah. For He has already come and live among us.

This trip certainly give me much understanding of why we need to pray for peace of Jerusalem. There is so much conflict and tension going on politically and religiously. As people of God cry out for peace in this Holy land. The God of heaven will hear our prayers and saved them once again as He did in Egypt.

The journey to Holy land, it is definitely worth it for all of us who are called the follower of Jesus. At least once in a life time. =)

Adventure in Uncle Ho City - 1

Xin chao! Tht's the greeting here in Vietnam. 3 days it has been since I came to Vietnam. It's my 2nd visit to Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon. Well. My 1st was 7 years ago! So yeah, things changed. For the fact that I got a little bit lost on the 1st day that show how has it changed.

It felt kinda slacking a little since I have not really been productive here but yet my God is so good. As my fiancé said. "eventhough it's my vacation. But God bring ministry along with me." My 1st day here I managed to speak about Christ love to my roommate whom I got to know through mutual Vietnamese friend. It was amazing. Evenmore, he has a few friends who are in graphic design, photography scene here in Vietnam. So I'm really excited to meet up with this people and perhaps connecting with them. God is cool. Ok let's share some of my food here. Hee!!

So I came back from Haiti. Ton of stories to tell. Thanks to Steve, he has set up a blog that posted all the email report we have been doing while we were there. The passing of my mom.

So while I was in Haiti, I received an email from my brother informing me that my mom has just passed away. So right after my trip. I came home just to be with my family. For me personally I'm quite prepared. Since my mom has been sick for the last few years. Her condition with Anemia getting on and off. She has been to the hospital couple of times. So may the Lord has mercy on her. Your prayer for my family would be greatly appreciated.

BCW + CRIT + Storyteller 2010

I will be in Chiang Mai for the next month as we host CRIT 2010. CRIT is an annual gathering of people in YWAM Communication worldwide. We meet every year to discuss and brainstorming on how we could further improve our communication within YWAM International as well as to the body of Christ out there. This time it held in my town. So I'm excited to see what God is doing in Asia and hopefully we will be able to multiply and equipping many more communicators within Asia region.

Many of you who do keep intouch with us on Facebook would have known that we're engaged! It was just another evening of going out together as usual on the 20th January. As we had dinner together, I decided to pop and question to her as well as presenting a ring. And of course, the rest is history. So thank you for all your congratulations and all the well wishes. Bonjour. From Haiti.

It has been amazing time witnessing what God is doing in this great nation of Haiti. I'm truly honoured and excited to be here experiencing God first hand. I'm so proud to be representing Asian here in this community and serving my Haitian brothers and sisters.

This weekends have been the days that the entire nation of Haiti call on national day of prayer and fasting with focusing on repentance. This is really never happened before as the whole nation come together worshipping God and pray like ever before. You see, this nation has been under Voodooism for the last 200 years. Now the tide has turned. God's mighty wave has come indeed.

It's interesting though that Haiti was actually the 1st place that Christopher Columbus landed when he discovered America. So it is rightful to say that Haiti once was the gateway for the gospel to America! That's her destiny. And now the Haitians are redeeming that once again.

I'm so excited to be here. Nowhere else I rather be at this time.

So it's less than 5 hrs now before my long journey starting. It's been indeed amazing journey hearing from God and walk in obedience to His call. We have raised about S$32,000 for Haiti Relief fund. God is indeed amazing! Thanks to the generosity of the body of Christ in Singapore. Let me tell you how beautiful it is...even Myanmar also contribute to the cost of helping Haiti. A group of University students who prayed for Haiti and pull together some finances to give. It's indeed blowing my mind away. Thank you Singapore for blessing Haiti. Ultimately, thank you for allowing us to represent you to be a blessing to Haiti. =)

Also, God indeed perform a miracle over my US visa application. I went to apply for transit visa. I have received a tourist visa multiple entry valid for the next 10 years in return!! What an amazing God we serve....Praise be to God Almighty!!

I'm so excited of what God is going to do in us. As we go to serve the people there.
Do remember us in prayer from now until our return on 20th Feb.

To Haiti with love >>>Part 2

Wow....amazing, everyday there is an exciting thing happening. I have just sent out our newsletter yesterday. (in which can be found here) Even that, plan changes everyday. Now we just figured out that there will be no commercial flights flying into PaP from now until the 19th. So we have to change our flight and fly into Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic instead. Then from there YWAM DR will make some arrangement to transport us to Haiti border. From there we will be picked up by YWAM Haiti staff. So it seems there would be quite a bit of traveling. I really do need all your prayer. Also we have possibility of putting together one more team to follow us. Pray for those guys as well. One good news though, even before I sent out a newsletter. We received a few envelope that said "for Haiti Relief Funds" once we opened them up, it was simply stack of cheques. Altogether S$8,350!!! Just like that. The generosity of Singaporean always surprise me. (So keep on surprised me guys!) We do need more cash donation for the relief work YWAM Haiti is doing down there. Thank God also that we managed to work out in such a way that we could wire all the finances to them directly electronically. So we don't have to carry all the money with us!! (What a relief...)

I will have an appointment with US embassy on Tuesday February 2nd, morning. (8:30am Singapore time) Please continue to pray for favour. That I would get the transit visa that is needed for me right away. I'm excited to see things coming together. And indeed only God alone can take credit. He is amazing God. Haitians are pretty much in the heart of our Father God....so close in such a time as this.

Keep on praying...They sure need that. =)

Hi there,

As I officially closed down Mekongvision.com. So from now on, all the newsletter I do will be in the form of post on this blog. So that you guys don't have to go all over the place to read about what's happening with me. So I have made this blog as a central venue for all of you who would like to be in touch as well as pray for me. Thank you for all these years of supporting me in many different ways. THANK YOU. After many many years, finally I managed to revamping the entire site. Total makeover it. Hope you guys like it and find it's convenient to find out information about YWAM Singapore training as well as whole lots of opportunity to serve God in Asia. =)

YWAM going 50!

In 2010, YWAM International will turn 50! Yeah....Jubilee year for us as a mission. So Singapore will also be one of 40 venues around the world to celebrate 50th anniversary of YWAM. So that's what kept me pretty busy past month, working on Video presentation for the event. Due to lack of Video editing experience as well as good equipment. It has been real challenging time for me. Thank God for friend namely Brandon!! He has been such a blessing helping me out. Can't wait until the end product finished! Do pray for me for wisdom from to the Lord to be able to do this Video well. Pray for my MacBook to be able to carry the load of all HD footages which I know....it has been out-performed. Hopefully my MacBook would survived then haha.. =)

Hit the road once more..

Year end also means "MISSION TRIP!!" Yoohoo!! Love it, so this time I'll be leading a youth team from Bethesda Bedok-Tampines Church to Cebu, Philippines. It's gonna be exciting as this will be my 1st time visiting Philippines. I'm excited to see what God is doing there. So from 28th November - 6th December 2009 I'll be there. So please pray with us that indeed we will be a blessing to people we meet wherever we are.

After the trip. I'll be back in Singapore for another week. Sending my Joy off for her DTS outreach in which she will be heading to Japan and Myanmar until end of January 2010. And after that, I will embark on another adventure. (I can't seem to have enough of it haha.) For I will be taking a train from Singapore up to Bangkok. (nearly 2,000 Kms. ride!) and eventually heading home to Chiang Mai, visiting my family for 2 weeks over X'mas and New Year. I do ask for your prayer even much more not just in journey mercy but also for my family. My mom has not been well physically. I do hope to be there to help in whatever I can.

So that is it for my 2009. Watch this space as soon enough, there will be X'mas surprised for all of you! =)

Oh man, look at those smile from cheek to cheek. They're just so adorable. It felt as if sometimes, being a children might be a good thing. You are very care-free. You don't have too many thing to worry about much. Not like us older folks. Recently I just been to developing nations like Uganda and Cambodia. Even though they don't have much. But they still have that kinda joy. A great smile on their faces. It just amazed me. Isn't that what Jesus meant?, for us to have a child-like faith? To simply trusting God the Father, and do not have to be anxious about anything....but in everything give thanks and live life full of joy! I think these kids are really full of joy.

Now I do want to be like a little children once again. hee..... =)

Who would think that God is going to use Uganda as a place to shape and refine the ministry of my life. Africa has been the most unknown continent in my knowledge until my visit to Uganda this time round. It changed my life forever.....

After long journey, I mean really long journey. 2 hours flight from Singapore to Bangkok, waiting for 12 hours to catch the next flight then another 9 hours long of sleepless flight to Nairobi. Stop for 2 hours and another an hour flight to Entebbe, Uganda. It was so cool though the first glimpse of Uganda greeting me was this beautiful rainbow. Amazing creation of our great creator. I'm so excited to see Africa for the 1st time.

I spent in Kampala for a few nights with a friend's family then moving on to YWAM Hopeland, Jinja. It is a beautiful base. The contrast of blue sky and red earth filled with green blade of grass is just so amazing. Reminding me of Christmas! It was such great opportunity for me to meet up with different people from around the world who are passionate about communication.

Our 1st week of meeting begins with Basic Communication Workshop (BCW) which aims to equip each YWAMer to love and communicate well through different media and form. Either in verbal or non-verbal form of communication or different set of skill such as writing, graphic design, photography and videography has been taught. At the end of the week, every participants were convinced that they too can be a good communicator for this mission and ultimately, for Christ.

Then we proceed on to CRIT consultation. Communication Research and Information Technology (CRIT) initiative was formed by YWAM's International Chairman, Lynn Green together with the team from YWAM International Communication Network (YWAM ICN) in Colorado Springs, USA. with a purpose to bring healing and restoration to the nervous system of YWAM's body. Which is our communication within the mission. So this initiative is hoping to empower YWAM as a whole to communicate and stay connected in partnership with one another and stop isolation.

After much time of discussions and breaking into different work groups. I personally become more aware of those GAPS...that is existing in this world and somehow get into our mission. Just to name a few big one such as the gap of languages, cultures, financial stability and even the access to an information technology. All these gaps, somehow has become a stone wall that divides our mission. Communication is such a key to tear down these walls and bridge the gap.

It all come down to "RELATIONSHIPS" If we value relationships, we would value communication. It's always go hand in hand. Because God cares, that's why He sent His only begotten son to come and be a communicator for His love to all mankind. To bring healing, restoration and bridge the gap between God and man.

Understand value of Communication does help transformed my whole concept of what I do in this mission. As a graphic designer, sometimes I have this thought that "My job is less important than those that go out there preaching the Gospel in the front line." That's only come out of the Sacred vs Secular mindset. That's not biblical at all.

All that we do, do it as if unto the Lord. As part of the body, we do have roles and functions. Every single function is as equally as important. Can you imagine, the commandos who went out there without headquarters' support. The battle is already lost even before it started.

I am inspired, I am empowered. I now see the value in what I do for this mission so clearly. To come all the way to Africa just for this is absolutely worth it.

Some of us from YWAM Singapore including myself will take part in Sundown Marathon this year to run in Corporate race category, which mean, 4 of us in one team will run 10.5 Kms each (so it's sum up to 42 Kms.) But this time, we do not run just for the heck of it, but we would like to raise awareness of the need for after care program for this young people whom being released from prison. They need help! We could make a difference in their life today as simple as just giving of your finances, so our team would like to invite you to consider contribute financially to this project. Helping the After Care Program to kick start this coming June'09..

It has been awhile since I read such a good fiction story....(well for the fact that I'm not a big fan of fiction book anyway haha... =p) but I must tell people about this book because it's such a revolutionary book I ever read...it brought such a great impact in my understanding of who God really is...

I first heard about "The Shack" from some other YWAMers in the US. I didn't really pay attention until it hits the store in Singapore. But Still I only managed to pick it's copy up in India during my outreach...(for the fact that it's sooooo cheap!). I never regret it at all buying this book and read it.

William P. Young is really an amazing writer. He managed to translate a lot of highly complicated truth about God, theology and stuff like that, break it down into a very simple form that anyone would be able to understand. The way most people identified. Especially, the key issue that the book is targeting....the BIG question of "Where is God in the midst of tragedy...??" I think as I read this book, it gave an acceptable and reasonable answer to this question. I've got to salute him for his spirit-filled wisdom in how he wrote this book.

Even though the whole story of this man, Mackenzie is totally fictional, but yet it's indeed full of truth about the character of God, the struggle that many people are facing try to figured out how to relate with God in the midst of tragedy, bad time, etc.... I think this book did a fantastic job in revealing the heart of God the Father, his compassion for the broken-hearted. As I read this book, I wept..for God so loved me....so bad until I felt at time, what did I do to deserved this great love....?? well, I did nothing.... I come to understand far better, what the grace of God mean... Thank you Jesus for your love for me....

Pick this book up whenever you could find one....You will surely enjoy it....I guaranteed... haha
Have fun reading and remember to get on your knees and thank Him for His love just for all of us.... =)

After so long, finally......less than 8 hrs....I will be heading to Chennai, India. It's gonna be my first time to this great Nation of South Asia. I'm excited. I heard so much about the good and the bad of this Nation. I suppose, I do need to verify it for myself haha......

Do pray for me and my team though. I think, because of what's happening in Mumbai recently. The world is watching India so close right now....Pray for peace for this Nation. Safety of the team. Well...I'm not so worried about this as I know that, there is no better place that is safe than to be in the centre of God's will. I know I am. So.....shine on!

I hope to have an opportunity to share more with you guys along the way as we journey into this outreach. Expect more photos!! haha...My camera fully loaded with 2 4GB cards. I hope that's more than enough. If not, I got spare Hard drive. hee.....

Wow....6 weeks of DTS has passed, I've witnessed lots of amazing thing God has done in our midst. It is always amazed me to see life being transformed so obvious that only God could do...All praise and glory to His name. Now, it's less than a month before we heading out for Outreach. We will be heading to Bangkok, Thailand 1st of all for our last week of Lecture on "Missions" after that, I will be traveling to India. I'll be working with YWAM there for 3 weeks with the team then head back to Thailand and spend another 3 weeks in the southern part of Thailand. More details to come haha....

I would be really appreciate all your prayer and support for me for this trip. It may sound funny to you. But this will be my first time working with YWAM Thailand. (yeah...) So I do hope to connect with people there as well in whatever way as the Lord leads. Also it would be my 1st visit to India. I heard so much story about India. Now I'm about to make my own story.

I have to admit that, this is my 1st school leading....I have learnt a lot....about myself, about God and about His people. But I guess...the greatest thing that God has kept reminding me throughout this school is this....."Remember the Eden" whatever I do, always go back to intimacy with God. Without Him, all that I do is just in vain. We all 1st call to intimacy with Him...truly..."God works in a man, before He gives man His work." it's really true. Ministry is the expression of our Love for Him. It doesnt make God love us more or less....For nothing can change His love for us.... God is love...if He doesn't love...He cannot be God. For God is LOVE. Amen!

Romans 8 clearly show us....that truly NOTHING....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING call separate us from His love. Thank you Jesus!!! I'm so in love with Jesus everyday as I meditate on these words...may you be blessed with His love that never run dry for you each day.....Walk with HIM.
